I received a classroom set of the book "Silent Spring" by Rachel Carson and I am looking for a way to integrate it into my classroom. Any lesson plans or ideas would be greatly appreciated!
I would totally use them!!! I don't have the book, but I do talk about the book and show the video in my Intro to NR class. I think you could have students do write ups very similar to English class where they have to make so many connections per chapter... Just base it more around the environmental aspect and how that has played a role in our management strategies today. You could have prompts with the "What-if" idea and "what would you do". My kids were in utter shock when we watch a youtube video on it that showed kids getting sprayed in the face by pesticides.
