CASE AS Question

I work in a high poverty, 98% minority school where the students don't even own dogs much less have any experience with sheep, horses, etc. In class, I have assigned animals that I think they might have a general idea about (dogs, cats, rabbits) but it is really hard to explain flight zones, feed efficiency, etc with those animals. Has anyone else had this issue and how did you address it? We do have a dairy in the area, but nothing else within an hour drive of the school. I am just having a really hard time following the core values of CASE-AS with kids that have NO experience other than maybe seeing the animal!
