Does anyone have advice of where to order tools/parts/etc from. I am located in MN and am wondering if there is a way to get discounted prices or "school prices" on different tools and parts I will be ordering. Thanks
First, I would contact your local Airgas or Praxair dealer. A lot of times they will give your school discounts or "package" deals. I also shop around between Northern Tool, Lowes, Grainger and Sears. If your school has a Lowes card, they can get 5% off purchases. My local lumber yard also gives us discounts on some tools and materials when its for student projects. Hobar publications and Briggs & Stratton are a couple of good resources for specialty and small gas engine tools and equipment. Here in MO, we have a state surplus lot we can go to as well. It is hit or miss, but sometimes you can find some good deals.
I am continually shopping around and looking in different places for deals and supplies.
What tools are you looking for?Are you talking about woodworking, welding construction? If you send me an email I can give you all of the contacts that I have for specific tool needs. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org
