I am hoping some of you can offer your feelings and/or rules regarding how you handle the grades of your officers. I am not just talking about the grades in Ag class, but their overall grades in other classes. Do you have a system where they are put on probation for failing grades in other classes, leave it to their responsibility, get involved and require them to attend tutoring, etc.? And do you think it is fair to kick them off the team if they are a great leader, but do not perform well in school? I have several students on my officer team who are in special education classes because they learn more slowly, but they make great leaders. Do I treat them the same way about their grades or differently? Any ideas or imput would be appreciated.
