Does anyone have good resources or ideas for teaching the importance of agronomical crops? Activities, labs, lessons?? This is a new unit for me, and I am looking for ideas. Thanks to all in advance!!
I may have some resources for you. Is there anything in particular that you are looking for? I have a lot of info on corn and soybeans. Let me know what specifics you might want and I'll see what I have.
Thank you John. Looking at crops and also noxious weeds, diseases and other problems producers encounter. I have samples to work on identification of seeds and plants. Would really love to find some type of "mystery" to solve using identification. Sort of a what's that growing in my corn field approach. I may have to make it up, but was hoping there might be something out there.
I was wondering if you ever created a "mystery" to solve using plant identification? If so would you be willing to share with me? My email is firstname.lastname@example.org.
Kristina, I did not. I have been primarily focused on animal science. I think it would be fairly easy to create. You could always use the Green House murders approach with any crime scene and any plant just using plant descriptions, pictures or planted evidence. I would love to hear how you end up creating this.
Was wondering if you have any resources Kim or John? I teach a whole class this year on Agronomics. Nice thing is we have 30 + acres of fields. But would like other resources.
