Are you going to CASE institutes this summer?
If not, have you considered it??
Let's talk CASE!
I am attending the CASE: Animal Science workshop at Purdue in July. I have never had any interaction with CASE and am excited to learn more? Is anyone else coming to Purdue?
Going to Plant Science at Barton CC in Great Bend, KS. Would like to know if I need to pack golf clubs, Fishing pole, shotgun, anything else for entertainment. Thanks!!!!
I will be your lead teacher at Barton. I have done some research for the area, and there isn't much to do there. There are a few golf courses and I would be up for a game that Saturday or Sunday.
Just a warning, i'm not a good golfer, but I am good at bevverage consumption and cart driving. I'm worried about being bored and considered going to Dodge City on Saturday to do some sight seeing and I have a former student that has an internship in Garden City. Does anyone from Kansas know if there are prairie dogs in the area and if it is a legal time of year to do so, because if it is, i'll pack the .223 along as well.
I know that Nan Hamilton from Northern Burlington County Regional High School in New Jersey will also be attending the Plant Science CASE in Kansas.
That will be a good time 8)
I'm headed to Intro to AFNR in MN in July. Wondering what to bring along, besides computer? (What's the schedule really like? Would it be worth the effort if my husband brought the girls and the camper up for a few days? That's a LONG time to be gone from my 3 little girls.)
I hear ya Melanie! I have three boys and my brother's wedding the weekend between training - fortunately the wedding is in Ames. Our summers' are nearly nonexistent with 2 weeks of CASE and a week of IAAE conference. I'm planning on Skyping with the fam while I'm away but camping sounds fun. See you in a few weeks!
I am currently taking the CASE Plant Science Institute and am definitley gaining a lot from my time spent here! I plan to use this curriculum to teach my Botany: Plant Science course this school year. I am excited that this year is my year for Perkins funds in my district so I will be able to purchase equipment necessary to implement the whole curriculum. It is definitley two weeks well spent!! I would reccomend it to any new or experienced teacher interested in gaining valuable professional development and ready-to-use science-based curriculum!
I will be attending the Animal Science institute @ the FFA center in Iowa.
Sounds Great. I won't be around much but I am sure that the other Iowans in the group will make you feel welcome. We are really proud of our FFA Enrichment Center.
I'll be there courtesy of the Govenor's STEM Scale-up grant! My small district would've never found the funds to send me and can't wait to implement the program in August.
I'll be attending the July 8-19th training in Ankeny for AFNR. I'm already receiving supplies (also paid for by the grant) at school. Thank you Joshua Remington for coordinating!
At CASE right now at Mizzou in Columbia for ASP! Thanks to the Governor's Council for the STEM Grant!
I will be attending the Intro to AFNR CASE training at Oregon State in July. Am excited about going and learning what it is all about and how to utilize it in the classroom. Anyone else headed out to Oregon State?
I'm in! I am stoked about road tripping to NE in about a week for CASE Plant. I plan on staying in Moline or Davenport, then take a little detour in Iowa to check out Herschel. We set up a trade: jars of homemade jam for hats for the FFA. You can't find the fruits and berries grown here out in the Midwest. It's been a good season for fruit I'll have to bring some with me. I hear cherries are a favorite.
I'm attending CASE at Texas Tech. Looking forward to the experience.
I am going to NRE in Indy!
