I have recently talked to my administration about offering a landscaping/floriculture class for the 2010-11 school year. Right now I am in the process of finding adequate curriculum/textbooks, course descriptions to help with is course. What are some things that you do in your landscaping/floriculture classes?

Here is a list of topics I taught in my horticulture class:
Course Description: Design your own landscape? Build your own corsage? These are just two of the topics covered in horticulture. Basic greenhouse management will deal with factors which influence plant growth such as light, media, fertility, etc. These can apply to the commercial greenhouse or window box. Along with landscape design, growth of summer annuals in the greenhouse will be areas of major emphasis. There will be ample hands-on work.
I used the Introductory Horticulture text written by Reiley and Shry and published by Delmar. There are a couple of nice supplements for the book - a lab manual and test generator program with prewritten questions. I think it is a nice Horticulture book with a little bit of information about a lot of topics. As far as landscaping goes you may want something more specific to that topic.
