I have found the teacher's guide and student workbook, but does anyone have the student text? My students are interested in beef cattle, horses, hogs, and goats. When I go to the Cornell website it gives me very little information about this curriculum. I have emailed them twice asking questions, but they are very brief and really don't answer my questions or give me much information about the curriculum. It is quite pricey to buy blindly. What did you think of the curriculum, would it be a good match for my students interests? Thanks!
Hi! If you found the teacher workbook and student guide on this site -that is the old version - produced in the early 2000's I believe. There is no student text - there are some powerpoints that go with the materials that should also be on this site somewhere - but that is it - you have everything. It is a curriculum.
On the Cornell website - they do have a new version that was published in 2018 - it updates and reinvents the old version - this is a paid item and I believe it costs $150 - but it is well worth it - many teachers will tell you that. It is a fraction of the cost of many other curriculums out there. It also includes teacher guide and a student workbook with accompanying powerpoints - there is no textbook with this item either. Most of the units cover animals in general - and don't hit on specific species - but it uses examples of a variety of species. If you search this community you may be able to find a post by Julia Rottman-Smith with some sample lessons from the new version.
Hope that helps!
