I am looking for pneumatics and hydraulic lesson ideas. Hands on activities that won't break the bank. I am not an expert and looking for some manageable ideas! Thanks!
One of the best ideas that I have heard from colleagues in the past here in MT is for using syringes and small hoses. THe syringes are used both as the hydraulic pump as as the cylinder. You could use the either with air (pneumatics) or mineral oil (hydraulic). The teacher that did this gave the kids a certain number of syringes and hoses and they had to make a machine to do a job. As far as teaching materials fluidpower zone has a series of CD's covering electrical mechanical and fluid power. ONe of these cds covers hydrauilcs and goes pretty in depth. THe cds were a little pricy several years ago but may be cheaper now. Hope this helps.
