Wrapping up the 2019 NAAE Virtual Book Club

Blog Post created by Sarah Warren on Jul 26, 2019

Hello all Virtual Book Club friends!

Wow, what an awesome and MAGICAL summer we have had reading Make Learning Magical together! I hope you have taken the time to dig deep into your reflective mind, glean new information, and explore new ideas for your classroom. We have enjoyed spending the summer with you and have loved all of your responses. Thank you for your authenticity, honesty, and willingness to contribute to the benefit of your fellow Agricultural Educators across the country.

Though we would love to live in our summer season forever, the start of a new school year is approaching – meaning we will soon be saying goodbye to this year’s Book Club! Your final discussion and assignment for Chapter 9 will be posted on July 30th. We know how crazy times can be, so we want to honor the flexible learning style of the Virtual Book Club by giving all participants until September 1st to complete the assignments for up to 12 hours of Professional Development credit. If you have not had a chance to catch up, now is your chance! After September 1st I will be preparing PD certificates, which I will send to you individually with the appropriate amount of hours earned based on the amount of assignments completed. Be sure to check your name on the Assignment Tracker, and let me know if I have missed anything!

I will leave this quote from Tisha Richmond here regarding the value of collaborating with your peers: “My [Professional Learning Network] has become a family that I have turned to time and time again for not only ideas but also inspiration, wisdom, support, and encouragement.” I hope we were all able to encourage and inspire one another with our ideas, lesson plans and thoughts to make learning a more exciting opportunity in our classrooms!

Thank you all for a magical summer!
