The NAAE Virtual Book Club is designed for agricultural educators to personalize their professional development. NAAE members can participate in the Virtual Book Club and earn up to 10 hours of professional development credit or CEU's.
The NAAE Virtual Book Club seeks to develop agricultural educators in the following ways:
-build understanding of students' needs as readers by engaging in reading and reflection
-experience professional development as an engaged learner inquiring into and reflecting on teaching and learning goals
-engage in deep conversations, layer personal experiences with literacy learning, and probe instructional issues
This summer, the NAAE Virtual Book Club will read Start. Right. Now by Todd Whitaker, Jeffrey Zoul & Jimmy Casas. You can purchase the book from Amazon or Barnes & Noble. Hard copies and Kindle editions are available.
Participants will be required to read the book and engage on Communities of Practice in the NAAE Virtual Book Club group, participate in small discussion group conference calls, and complete a Personal Performance Plan. Professional development credit will be awarded at the end of the last scheduled virtual event and after NAAE receives the participant's Personal Performance Plan.
