Carlie send me your email address and I'll forward you what we did! For some reason I am having trouble uploading the documents.
My email is cabrown@mwcsd.org. I look forward to doing this in my large animal science class! Thanks!
Could you also send me the additional information? This sounds really fun for my urban students in Intro to Animal science. bly.kelsey@westada.org
Kelsey - I am really interested in this lab! I teach a plant and Animal course which focusses on where our food comes from. We have companion animals in the classroom but no livestock and I have NO experience with cattle. So forgive me if this is a stupid questions but what is starting ration and disterillers grain? I live in NH so I can go to a grain store but I don't really know what I would be asking for. Any extra info would be helpful. Thanks!
Colleen
I picked up the starting ration from a local feedlot, it included a mixture of alfalfa/bean stubble/high moisture cracked corn/modified distillers/minerals. The starting ration is what they were started on after they were weaned. I got the distillers from our local ethanol plant which processing corn - I brought in dry, modified and wet distillers grains for the kids to look at. Hope this helps!
Hi Kelsey,
I know I am about four years behind everyone else finding this. Is is possible for you to email me the information as well?
My email is kjordan5@murraystate.edu
Thank you,

Do you have the follow up questions for this? I have been searching for the ingredient list and so glad I found yours. Pinterest only has pictures. My email is sdomke@antigoschools.org
That looks like a great activity! Did you have any discussion questions or anything else you did along with them figuring out what bucket contained which stomach?
