E (Experience): Soil texture identification in your unit would fall under this. Kids are getting to experience it, or learn through experiential learning. Maybe this would be a great time for students to compare different soil types compared to plant growth.
P (Participatory): This one is a little tough to find in your plans. The kids don't truly get a chance to show how they learned. They do get to play kahoot and use plickers at the end though. Maybe another way to add more participation is to create a type of bracket for something like best soil types/structures....
I (Image Rich): Students match words/phrases with pictures to reinforce the learning.
C (Connected): I am not sure that you specifically have any connection built into your lesson, but you do talk through the importance on around Day 2. Maybe you could add more to the connectedness through some of the nutrients for life games (Journey 2050, Humanity against hunger, etc.)
Experiential- Students get to do several things from writing the terms to, playing a game and using technology.
Participatory- They get to participate with each other and do things by themselves.
Image Rich- Can make the notebook full of colors, the pictures, and the actual wholes themselves. Drawing a picture.
Connected- Work in groups, class discussion
I agree it is easy to get caught teaching the same thing and not ever writing out your plan, I fell ya.
