FFA Creed Intro Lesson - REMAPPED
E - Experiential - This is probably one of the weakest areas just simply because of the content. I think that the experience of memorizing the creed is a positive one! Overall, maybe finding a way for reflection throughout the course of the creed can show students how they are "experiencing" it. P - Participatory - I think that having the students choose their own project and have the flexibility to do something they are very interested in does make this lesson very participatory. I think maybe the only way to make it more so would be to them working in groups, but overall I enjoy the individualistic nature of this lesson as well. I - Image-Rich - Depending on the format of the project the students choose, this can be a very image-rich lesson. Maybe, to increase the number of images, instead of reading it aloud yourself, you could play a video of a previous student(s) or other reciting it. I know I like this version from National FFA: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCPZ61JEwTo. I also enjoy sharing some of the national finals hall contestant videos, especially with students that may compete in the creed speaking LDE.
C - Connected - I appreciate the emphasis placed on students discovering their values and ethics within the FFA creed. I think this lesson excels at connectedness.
