Day 1: Provide students with the background knowledge of the various types of facilities based on use/purpose.  Discuss safe construction materials, appropriate sizes, sanitation, temperature, and ventilation considerations, and list neccessary areas that an equine facility might have (feeding, water sources, manure disposal, parking, loading/unloading areas, turn outs, exercise areas, tack rooms, grooming area, etc). If time allows, introduct project. Day 2: Review project and expectations.  Students should break into groups, review the rubric, and decide on a facility use/purpose, and make a list a materials for their model construction. Day 3-5: Model construction and type description. Day 5: Last 20 minutes of class, do a gallery walk.  Allow students to vote on their favorite projects by using colored dots. (Blue=Grand Champion Project, Red=Reserve Grand Champion Project, Green=Most Creative, Yellow=Most Memorable)  You can give awards to the project winners if you would like!  I provided boxes and cardboard, markers, scissors, glue, construction paper, yarn, paint and brushes (basic craft supplies).  We go over the list of materials that I provide so they can make their list to bring their own materials as needed.
