In 9th grade I met my agriculture teacher Anne Willard, when I struggled she was always willing to help me. I found it took a lot for me to learn new content and to retain what I studied. Anne never took that I "can't do it" as an answer, she pushed and encouraged me to never give up. With out her I would not have applied to college, or pursued a masters degree or had the pleasure of teaching with her for an entire school year.

I have thanked her many times, and I keep in touch via social media often. I sent her a letter after I graduated from college and we still keep in touch.
