Don't feel alone! I also have several reservations about incoropating gamification into my classroom. One thing with the escape rooms that I have found helpful when doign them is making sure they also have to turn something in at the end of it that provides the answers that they got for the clues. That way if they just break in, they don't get full credit or any credit for opening the box. How do you use the game topple? That sounds interesting to me.
Thank you for your thoughts - its nice to know its not just me.
With Topple, currently I just use it when I have game days as one of the game options. On those days students must participate with a group of people and phones have to be put away to get points. I liked her idea of having students answer review questions and if they get it right then they get to put a piece on.
