The NAAE Region VI & VAAE Agriculture Teachers Conference

July 21-25, 2019 – Blue Ridge Hotel & Conference Center – Roanoke, VA

2019 VAAE CONFERENCE REGISTRATION: Our early bird registration draws near, however, the deadline is being extended. The VAAE/NAAE conference early bird registration deadline has been extended to Wednesday, June 19.

HOW TO GET HERE: Directions to Blue Ridge Hotel & Conference Center


WHEN TO ARRIVE: Conference registration is from 4:00-5:00PM on Sunday (7/21), 7:30-8:45AM on Monday (7/22), and  7:30-8:45AM on Tuesday (7/23) at the Blue Ridge Hotel and Conference Center. Our first General Session starts at 12:00PM (Noon) on Monday (7/22) at the Blue Ridge Hotel and Conference Center. We will hold a required Train the Trainer Safety and Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) program for all agricultural education teachers in the Commonwealth on Tuesday (7/23). Area meetings start at 3:00PM on Wednesday (7/24) at the conclusion of industry tours. Conference breakfast, industry credentialing, and workshops along with conference participant Ag Olympics and celebratory cookout will conclude on Thursday (7/25)!


WHAT TO BRING: *Most* of the conference is casual. Additional items to pack include:

  • Comfortable closed-toe/closed-heel shoes, sunglasses, and hats for off-site  workshops/industry tours.
  • Cell phone, I-pad, camera, charger, etc. for photos and social media sharing.
  • $$$ for silent and live auction items at banquet, including Area Baskets.


WHAT TO DO BETWEEN NOW AND THE CONFERENCE: If you have not gotten your silent and/or live auction items yet, the clock is ticking! Too, back by popular demand, we are going to host our Area Basket contest again this year! Each area (Appalachian, Blue Ridge, Central, Northern, Southeast, & South Ridge)  is encouraged to donate as many baskets to the auction as possible; however, only 1 basket per VAAE Area will be eligible for prizes. Each basket entry will be considered for all three categories (People’s Choice, President’s Choice, and Best Overall), but can win only one prize. See attached rules for more details. 


WHAT TO DO AT THE CONFERENCE: Have fun!!!! An individualized conference schedule will be provided at registration, but a current conference at a glance is attached. Be engaged!!! We have many activities planned for you while we continue to be STEAMing ahead with Ag Ed!
