My 7th graders spend about four days on this project. One to research and answer the questions about the breed and three to create the soda bottle pig. We use recycled products that teachers have donated, specifically:

  1. Soda Bottles (anywhere from 8 oz to 2L)
  2. Paper Towel or Toilet Paper Rolls
  3. K-Cups (Legs)
  4. Pipe Cleaners
  5. Masking Tape
  6. Paper Towels (round out the hams and jowls)

Students must create this pig's basic structure, wrap it in masking tape, then we paint them. Students present the breed using an index card. Pigs do have the potential to be used as judging practice.

**I'll post a picture of my pig soon**
