February is National Pet Dental Health Month!!!!

Its a great time of year to get your students involved with their pets. In fact, the number one health problem in dogs is periodontal disease. Activities done to increase awareness of this issue can help to prevent one of the most debilitating illnesses your pet can have

Ideas for Activities:

Hold a Pet Dental Awareness Day at your school

Technology help!:

Have students create brochures for younger students on how to keep your animal's teeth clean or what to expect during a dental exam.

Have students create a pictionary of dental terms using google and Powerpoint

Have students give their pets preliminary oral exams and take pics of any problems they spot. Then, they can discuss common problems and solutions.

Have students survey their own pet foods to find ones that are dental care friendly

Please see attached publications for worksheets that match the current issue of Dog Fancy!
