This summer, 48 outstanding agriculture teachers were selected to participate in the National Agriscience Teacher Ambassador Academy (NATAA). The academy is now in its 13th year and is sponsored by DuPont, as a special project of the National Association of Agricultural Educators (NAAE).
Selected ambassadors were invited to DuPont’s Chesapeake Farms in Chestertown, Maryland, to learn new teaching techniques that will elevate their students’ knowledge and skills in agriscience. While at the academy, the teachers were able to visit laboratory settings and speak with scientists and engineers about global food security, food safety, global water issues and solar energy solutions.
Graduates of the academy will now have the opportunity to lead future seminars and workshops at National FFA Convention in Louisville, Ky., and NAAE Convention in New Orleans.
