Happy National FFA Week!

I thought you might like to use the link below as a virtual teaching tool for some of the courses you teach related to animal science.  We are caring for a Berkshire bred gilt at Cumberland Valley as a part of the Animal Science curriculum and student SAE projects.  If you chose to use it, be sure to use the link for non-CV users (it's the one to the right when looking at the main web page).  AND, hopefully your tech filters at school do not block the 'plug-in' necessary to view the live feed.

Meet our newest student at CVHS -  'Peaches' the Pig!  Why is she here?  Agricultural Science students and FFA members have been caring for our 'fine swine' as she prepares to give birth to her litter of piglets as part of the Ag Sciences curriculum and hands-on learning experiences.  'Peaches' is due next Thursday, Feb. 21.  You can view her 24/7  in your classroom or from your home computer, iPad, iPhone, or Android!  Feel free to stream it from anywhere, anytime!

Note: If you load the web page via Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, you might need to install the latest version of Java.

Hi Folks!

Here is a cool YouTube channel (if you can access it at school) that would be GREAT for introducing various units you teach in Ag Science!  There are over 130 video clips (3-4 mins on average) that use science vocabulary by syncing it with beats to new, modern songs relevant to our students' generation.  This Mr. Parr fellow is quite the entertainer!  Sure - they're a little corny, but aren't we all???

Sample of Topics:

*Water Cycle

*Urinary System

*Part of a Flower

*Animal Classification

And many, many more!

Happy Valentine's Day!
