I am the only daughter in a family of five.
I loved to play softball, run cross country, and compete on a rifle team throughout my childhood (as well as showing livestock). I graduated from McGuffey High School and was a member of the chapter for 7 years. One of my passions in life is floral design. (Yes, I did make this!)
I also have a passion for horses. I am currently still improving on the barrel pattern. My dream is that one day I will travel across the country and compete at rodeos with a horse that I have trained myself. Right now I have a 13 year old quarter horse. He is the best four legged partner I have ever had.
I have had a busy summer. I took Chem 202, was a summer intern at the Penn State Extension-Washington County, and worked at a local dog boarding kennel. My summer internship was originally supposed to be one day a week, but by the end of the summer, I was working almost three. My job was to help Pam Paletta lead workshops for kids between the ages of 4-12. We traveled to day cares all over Washington County.
My ultimate goals after graduation may surprise everyone. As most of you know I will be leaving for boot camp on June 6, but graduating training is just a small step to my ultimate goal. About a year in on my career in the Marines, I want to tackle Officer Candidate School and The Basic School to become an officer in the Marine Corps. The coolest part is that I can still teach agriculture while in the reserves! I am super excited for my journeys to begin. It may take a couple more years to achieve, but those years will be worth it.
