Another great week is in the books for Teach Ag! Much of the work from the past year culminated last week in Indianapolis for the 2012 National FFA Convention. It's hard to put into words how awesome of a week it was but I'll do my best through pictures.
The Teach Ag Booth #1033 takes shape on Tuesday. The 12 Teach Ag ambassadors did a great job making it come to life!
Aly Reynolds, Teach Ag Ambassador from Utah State teaches a student in Mr. Cook's math class at Emma Donnan Middle School in Indianapolis about Agricultural Scientists. In all 213 middle schoolers were exposed to over 600 minutes of agriculture in 6 different classrooms. Thanks to the mentor agriculture teachers for their guidance and assistance. Robin McLean-New Jersey, Aaron Geiman-Maryland, Matt Eddy-Iowa, Greg Curlin-Indiana, Brandon Duff-Missouri and Bonnie Kegler-Connecticut.

The custom Teach Ag boots and boot bag from Anderson Bean Boot Company and Double J Saddlery were definitely the main attraction. Congrats to Emilie Taylor of Jonesboro, Arkansas who will receive her very own pair!
Over 180 FFA members attended two Teach Ag workshops. Attendees were able to ask questions and engage directly with current and future agriculture teachers. Thanks to the teachers who helped out. One of the best parts about convention is hanging out with friends. Here I am pictured with three of my favorite people. Bestie Natasha Mortenson-MN, Mike Miron-MN, and Julie Fritsch-NAAE.
The Teach Ag Ambassadors also took part in the FFA Hunger Rally and contributed to packaging over 1,000,000 meals for those in need. Way to go Teach Ag!
It was pretty cool and inspiring listening to McKenzie Baecker-former Teach Ag Ambassador and WI National Officer Candidate, Jessie Hartle-Page High School, TN Agriculture Teacher and Mike Miron-Forest Lake High School, MN Agriculture Teacher talk about the moment they knew they were Tagged to Teach Ag at the 5th General Session on Friday.
The Teach Ag logo was everywhere! Here, Heather an Agriculture teacher from New York proudly displays her Teach Ag spirit. Every NY ag teacher that attended summer conference was able to take home one of these jackets! Way to go New York.
The FFA delegate committee voted to recommend implementation of a National Ag Ed CDE.
The boots had a great time at the 2012 National FFA Convention. Next stop Agriculture Future of America conference in Kansas City Nov. 1-2.
We are already making plans for 2013 in Louisville. It will certainly be hard to top this year, but we will try!
