Comfort Zone!

Blog Post created by Charles Sappington on Nov 1, 2012

Thank you for allowing me to step out of my "Comfort Zone" these past three years; it has been quite an honor serving on the NAAE board and I would do it again in a heartbeat.  The opportunity to serve with such great people on the board has been so gratifying and rewarding and I will miss those long meetings hashing out the business of the NAAE.  I am saddened in the fact that my three-year term is coming to an end but I am also saddened in the fact that there are not more NAAE members that want to invest their time into being a leader at the national level. I have attempted to change the attitude of members in my last year and I am pleased that there are two candidates for regional vice president and two candidates for regional secretary.

The NAAE Convention in Atlanta is approaching so very quickly and I hope many of you have made plans to attend this year.  The theme for this year's convention is Rising with Rigor and Relevance and members can still register for the convention until November 8th at the following address: After that date, individuals will have to register on site.  The professional development, committee meetings, regional meetings and business sessions promise to keep all of us busy the entire time but I know the receptions and the state social promise to be very rewarding and entertaining.  Members wanting to attend the Host State Social on November 29th from 6:30 -9 p.m. (which will be at the Commerce Club Atlanta) need to order your tickets by November 16th.  The cost is $10 person now, but after November 16th, the cost is $15 each.  Go to the following link  Look for "Host State Social Ticket Form" at the bottom of the page, fill out the form, print and send the form and your check or purchase order to the NAAE office.  A 2012 NAAE convention schedule can be found at and the professional development workshop topic list and descriptions can be found at

Thank you for all of your support these past three years and may the Lord bless you and your families.
