Will someone please turn off the water faucet? Water everywhere! It seems in the Midwest we have had more than our share of rain this spring. Well as it usually happens in agriculture, its feast or famine with the rain. Even in our agriculture programs, the amount and quality of students in our classes can cycle up and down which is inherently connected to our successes each year. Well I cannot shut off the rain but I can encourage you to take time during these rainy days to encourage your members to apply for a NAAE awards. The deadlines are May 15 and those need to be finished up as soon as possible. We probably all know some well deserving teachers that need to be recognized for their hard work and dedication to the agriculture profession. The applications and instructions on filling them out can be found on the NAAE website at www.naae.org/awards/applications/. Applicants must have their NAAE dues paid to their state office and then each state’s dues remitter needs to get those dues to the NAAE office. It would be very tough to have to tell an award winner that they are out of luck because their dues did not make it to the national office.
Region conferences 2-6 are coming up and it is the perfect time to send in your registration to the state association that is hosting your conference. It is a great way to connect with other NAAE members in your region and a perfect opportunity to get young teachers involved that has not attended before.
That’s it. Stay dry and in the words of one my favorite 80’s band REO Speedwagon….Keep Pushin On and Roll With The Changes.
