Position Announcement:  Communications/Marketing Specialist
The NAAE communications/marketing specialist will be expected to have appropriate credentials and experience in communications and marketing, including a working knowledge of writing for the media, preparing computer generated presentations, developing and maintaining websites, marketing membership and merchandise, and using computer software typical in office environments (word processing, desktop publishing, web design and maintenance, database, and spreadsheet). Follow this link for more information and to apply today.

Volunteers Needed to Judge 2019 NAAE Awards
The following awards will be judge virtually: Outstanding Early Career Teacher, Outstanding Agricultural Education Teacher, Outstanding Middle/Secondary Ag Ed Program, Outstanding Postsecondary Agriculture Program, and Teacher Mentor. Each committee volunteer must be a NAAE member and will judge up to 10 award applications using the required NAAE Award Judging Rubric that will be provided to you. NAAE Judging Committee members must submit their scores to the NAAE office by June 15th. Click here for more information and to volunteer by May 15th!

Present a Workshop at the 2019 NAAE Convention
Each year, agricultural educators from across the country gather at the NAAE Convention for networking, business sessions, and most importantly the opportunity to engage in high-quality professional development related to ag education. A great way to share with the profession is to present a workshop. The call for proposals is now open and the deadline to apply to present is June 3, 2019. Click here to apply online.

Instructional Materials Now Available from Growth Energy
Growth Energy, as a special project of the National FFA Foundation, is providing teachers with 15 days of instruction focused on ethanol and renewable fuels. To access these free instructional materials, including the lesson plan, six activities, PowerPoint, and assessment visit NAAE’s Communities of Practice website at this link

Vets on Call
Presented by Zoetis, the Veterinarians on Call YouTube channel features real-life vets doing a variety of tasks. This week, Dr. Farruggio vaccinates calves against brucellosis which can cause a serious disease in humans called undulant fever. Click here to watch the video.

Work Behind-the-Scenes at National FFA Convention & Expo
Spread the news—we’re looking for interns to work at the national convention and expo this October:

CDE/LDE Convention Schedules Now Available
To help you plan for the national convention and expo, we posted the tentative schedules for each of the 25 career and leadership development events on FFA.org (click on the specific CDE or LDE to access its schedule). Orientation information will be posted online in early August, along with other awards and recognition program details.

Call for Delegate Coordinators
National FFA is looking for adult consultants to help with the National FFA Delegate Experience. These appointed positions begin in July 2019. Nominations for delegate coordinators will be accepted from all interested parties; however, no state may be represented more than once—current coordinators are from Louisiana, Ohio, Oregon, South Dakota, Tennessee and Washington. The delegate handbook outlines the criteria for selecting delegate coordinators and the structure in which the coordinators operate. Those who are interested in serving the organization in this capacity may nominate themselves by completing this application. Nominations are due by 5 p.m. EDT on Monday, May 13. Contact delegates@ffa.orgfor questions.

 

Nominate an FFA Member for National Officer Nominating Committee
Nominations are now open for students interested in serving on the National Officer Nominating Committee. Nominations close July 15. Anyone can nominate a current FFA member for this position, and FFA members can nominate themselves as well through this nomination form.

We are looking for presenters to deliver workshops the week of the 92nd National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis. The deadline is June 1. Apply now.

FFA Alumni

FFA Alumni and Supporters Grant Deadline Approaching 
The next round of National FFA Alumni and Supporters grant applications are due June 1! Grant applications are available at www.ffa.org/alumnigrants. Legacy grants, sponsored by Tractor Supply Company, give groups up to $500 to start or improve FFA Alumni and Supporters chapters and up to $1,000 to work with students on a partnering project. Give Back to Your Roots grants, sponsored by Nutrien Ag Solutions, give chapters up to $5,000 to help fund student affiliation fees, plant science based projects and other classroom materials.
