National Agriscience Preservice Teacher Program Application Now Available
This fall, preservice teachers can apply to attend an interactive, hands-on agriscience training program at the 2017 National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, IN.  Selected participants will be challenged to develop inquiry-based lessons to use during their student teaching experience, as well as when they enter the teaching profession. Applications are due by Friday, September 22nd. Click here for more information and to apply today! 
Apply for XLR8 2017
Retaining quality, experienced teachers is important to the future of agricultural education. That's why we developed XLR8 — the eXcellence in Leadership for Retention professional development program — to meet the needs of mid-career agriculture teachers.
The XLR8 program is for NAAE members who have been teaching between 7 and 15 years. Our goals for XLR8 participants are:
  • professional development specific to this stage of your career
  • leadership development with the goal of helping you mentor other teachers
  • an increase in your overall career longevity and satisfaction

Vets on Call
Presented by Zoetis, the Veterinarians on Call YouTube channel features real-life vets doing a variety of tasks. This week, Dr. Kiehne explains the design of the farrowing barn where mom sows live for about three weeks while delivering and nursing their piglets, protected from the elements and from territorial barn-mates. Blue Buffalo to Support the National FFA Organization in Partnership with Tractor Supply Co.
From now until Oct.1, for each 30-lb. bag of Blue Buffalo Adult Chicken & Brown Rice, Adult Lamb & Brown Rice or Adult Large Breed Chicken & Brown Rice purchased at Tractor Supply Stores nationwide, Blue Buffalo will make a donation to the National FFA Organization. Click herefor more information.

There is still time to apply for a fall Semester-Long Living to Serve Grant. Projects should address community needs in one of the following focus areas: Community Safety; Hunger, Health and Nutrition; Environmental Responsibility and Community Engagement. $400 Day of Service Mini-Grant
FFA Day of Service Mini-Grants are available to middle school, high school, and collegiate/alumni chapters to serve your community in one of four focus areas: Community Safety; Hunger, Health and Nutrition; Environmental Responsibility and Community Engagement. Applications submitted by the last day of each month are reviewed and awarded by the 15th of the following month. Volunteer to Help at Convention
The educational development and evaluation team is seeking collegiate volunteers to assist with various expo booths and teacher workshops during the 90th National FFA Convention & Expo. Volunteers help with setup, facilitation/discussion with students, and teardown. Each volunteer will be assigned to one of the following areas: FFA educational resources booth, We Are FFA booth, AgExplorer booth or teacher workshops.
