Mission

  • The mission of The National Council for Agricultural Education is to establish high quality agricultural education programs in America's schools by stimulating:
  • the preparation, retention, and advancement of high quality agricultural educators; the development of programs that prepare students for academic and career success;
  • program innovation and adaptability in response to changing student and industry needs;
  • the use of research-based practices in agricultural education at all levels; and
  • expanded opportunities for students to experience high quality educational programs in agriculture.

National Teach Ag Day Collegiate Commercial Contest
One of the first things someone needs in order to teach agriculture is a degree in agricultural education. The National Teach Ag Day Collegiate Commercial Contest provides college students the opportunity to promote their respective college or university and agricultural education program through a 20-30 second commercial. Teach Ag Research Requests
Nearly every week we get requests for data and research related to agriculture teacher recruitment and retention. If you have research, poster abstracts or articles related to this topic please send the document, image or link to Tabitha.hudspeth@outlook.com. Tabitha will be compiling all related materials and placing them on the Teach Ag website for people to access your hard work and contributions to the profession – and citing you of course.

Vets on Call
Presented by Zoetis, the Veterinarians on Call YouTube channel features real-life vets doing a variety of tasks. This week, meet Dr. Rob Farruggio as he ultrasounds cows and explains that happy cows housed in comfortable barns produce more milk. Click here to watch the video.

FFA Alumni

Alumni Regional Development Conferences
Interested in learning more about alumni? Attend a RDC close to you to get information fast! This two-day conference is available at no cost for anyone interested in gaining knowledge on how to grow your alumni members at the state and local levels. On Friday evening, attendees will focus on state-level leader training and administration. Check with your state to make sure your state council is attending. The second day, will be local-level training targeting individual members, agriculture business and industry, educators and other members of Team Ag Ed. These conferences are full of valuable and timely information and will allow attendees to network and share ideas with other alumni members from across the region. XLR8 Applications DUE FRIDAY!
The XLR8 program includes participation in an intensive professional development experience (multiple sessions) during the NAAE convention, recurring virtual learning experiences, and online collaboration using the NAAE professional learning community, Communities of Practice, as well as other social media tools.
