To be the collective leadership voice for Agricultural Education in the United States.


The mission of The National Council for Agricultural Education is to establish high quality agricultural education programs in America?s schools by stimulating:

  • the preparation, retention, and advancement of high quality agricultural educators; the development of programs that prepare students for academic and career success;
  • program innovation and adaptability in response to changing student and industry needs;
  • the use of research-based practices in agricultural education programs at all levels; and
  • expanded opportunities for students to experience high quality educational programs in agriculture.

The Board of Directors of the National Council for Agricultural Education would like to wish everyone working to advance school based agricultural education a happy holiday season and a great start to the new year. CareerSafe Skills Network Provides SAE Students with OSHA Training
CareerSafe®, the leading provider of OSHA 10-Hour safety training to the youth market, and the Career Skills Network, a non-profit dedicated to Educating Tomorrow?s Workforce are excited and pleased to announce a new partnership to encourage and promote safety in the agriculture industry. Through this partnership, the Career Skills Network will fully fund 4,000 Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) students the opportunity to earn an OSHA 10-Hour General Industry (Agriculture) wallet card. Congratulations Robin McLean, Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro Teacher
Robin McLean, agriculture teacher at N. Burlington Regional Middle School, in Columbus, NJ has been selected as one of ten teachers for the Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro Teacher Recognition Program. As part of the program, McLean's agriculture program will received $1,000, which she hopes to use towards the purchase of GPS units. McLean also received tickets to an Eagles football game, jersey and personalized football. Click here for more information about the program.

NAAE Committees -- Apply by January 7
NAAE committees are currently seeking members to serve for the 2016-2019 term as well as candidates for chair and secretary. Click here for more information about NAAE Committees.

Teach Ag Internship -- Apply by January 10th
Interested in becoming a part of the Teach Ag Team? Apply for the 2016 Teach Ag Campaign Internship. Applications are due January 10th. Click here for more details and to apply.

NAAE Greenhouse Construction/Improvement Grants -- Apply by January 15th
NAAE is excited to announce that it is now accepting applications from members who are seeking to implement a greenhouse construction or enhancement project for their middle school or high school agricultural education program. In 2015-2016 school year, two $2,000 competitive grants will be awarded by NAAE and sponsored by International Greenhouse Company as a special project of the National FFA Foundation. 2016 CASE Institute Registration Now Open
CASE is excited to announce that registration is now open for the thirty-two CASE Institutes that will be held this upcoming summer! For more information and to register for a CASE Institute, please click here.


Each site will be capped at 18 participants with sites able to extend participant registrations up to, but not greater than, 20 participants. Many Institutes? registrations filled quickly last year so teachers should be sure to register and submit a School District Agreement as soon as they have secured the appropriate funding. Please note that any registration canceled within 30 days of the start of an Institute will be subject to a minimum $250 cancellation fee. Contact CASE Professional Development Director, Shari Smith, regarding any additional questions.


Friday, Dec. 18, 2015: A Congressional budget bill will affect ag/science programs, and links this week cover other government actions regarding COOL and EPA water rules. Other topics include FFA, 4-H, top stories of 2015, and even parachuting dogs. As we approach 2016, may the Ag Force be with you.
