The mission of The National Council for Agricultural Education is to establish high quality agricultural education programs in America’s schools by stimulating:

  • the preparation, retention, and advancement of high quality agricultural educators; the development of programs that prepare students for academic and career success;
  • program innovation and adaptability in response to changing student and industry needs;
  • the use of research-based practices in agricultural education programs at all levels; and
  • expanded opportunities for students to experience high quality educational programs in agriculture.

Continued Funding from The Mosaic Company provides CASE Institute Scholarships

In recognition of National Environmental Education week April 14-20, The Curriculum for Agricultural Science EducationTM (CASETM) and National FFA Organization today announced new environmental and natural resource leadership opportunities for teachers and students, through continuing grant support from The Mosaic Company (NYSE: MOS).The Mosaic grant provides scholarships for 40 teachers from 15 states to attend CASE Institutes this summer, where they will receive intense professional development in preparation for implementing CASE curriculums in schools. Students studying the Natural Resources and Ecology Curriculum will learn conservation history, energy and waste, forestry, wildlife, sustainable agriculture and management. Read more

Spring Meeting Recap: Federal Career Pathways Initiatives

Earlier this week, the National Association of State Directors of Career Technical Education Consortium (NASDCTEc) held its annual Spring Meeting where during one  session, participants heard updates on three national programs that are aiming to better coordinate and strengthen career pathways systems across states. Importantly, all of the presenters expressed an appreciation for each other’s efforts and noted that there was a lot of coordination across the projects. Read more

U.S. Department of Education

U.S. Departments of Education and Labor Announce Availability of $474.5 Million to Strengthen Training Partnerships Between Community Colleges and Employers

The U.S. Department of Education, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Labor, today announced the availability of $474.5 million to create and expand innovative partnerships between community colleges and businesses to educate and train workers with the skills employers need. This is the third round of funding since 2009 under the Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) grant program, for a total of nearly $1.5 billion. Read more
