Teach Ag Grants Available

The National Teach Ag Campaign is pleased to offer grant stipends once again to help state and local initiatives related to the recruitment and retention of school based agriculture teachers.  Grants will be reviewed and awarded throughout the year based on impact and available grant dollars.  There is no application deadline, however given the limited amount of funds available (currently at $5000) the sooner you submit an application the better.  The grant activity must be completed during the 2013 calendar year.  Applicants must be current NAAE members.   


The grant program has three priority areas for 2013.  Events that fall into these priority areas will have approval preference.  However, ALL Teach Ag related grant applications will be considered.  Please note activities must be related to the recruitment and retention of school-based agriculture teachers.  General agriculture awareness events are not eligible for Teach Ag grant funding. 


2013 Teach Ag Priority Areas

  • Collaborative events where two or more Ag Ed entities/organizations work together on a statewide level to celebrate the profession of Ag Ed and encourage others to consider a career as an agriculture teacher.
  • Teach Ag events that engage and expose new and diverse audiences to the ag ed profession 
    • Minority Populations
    • Career Change Populations
    • Urban Populations
  • Programs that address early career retention of agriculture teachers


The grant application is entirely electronic.  The National Teach Ag Campaign will notify you within 30 days with your grant request status.  As always feel free to contact me directly if you have questions or experience any issues.

2013 Teach Ag Grant Application

The National Teach Ag Campaign is an initiative of the National Council for Agricultural Education and is administered by the National Association of Agricultural Educators as a special project of the National FFA Foundation funded by the CHS Foundation.

    I highly recommend that everyone apply for these grants! We've gotten two of them here in NJ, and they really assisted us in putting together some really neat events to promote teaching ag. The grants are SO helpful in funding great TAG activities, and the application is very easy to fill out. Ellen is wonderful to work with too! Let's try to get as many people as possible supporting the Teach Ag Campaign!
